Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on updating my Home Assistant setup safely after falling a bit behind. I’ve been running Home Assistant OS on a Synology NAS (VM) for about 1.5 years now, and overall it’s been working great. However, about a year ago I hit an update that did not go smoothly. After updating, my Zigbee devices started acting up / not responding properly, and some dashboards/layouts were completely broken. A lot of automations basically fell apart. At the time, my wife wasn’t home yet to experience the “smart home suddenly becomes not-so-smart home” situation (aka the wife approval factor)… so I panicked a bit and rolled everything back using a snapshot in Synology VM Manager. Fast forward to now… and I realize I’ve basically been avoiding updates ever since 😅 Current versions: Home Assistant Core: 2025.3.0 Home Assistant OS: 14.2 So I’m quite a few releases behind, and now I’m a bit nervous: If I just start updating now, am I asking for trouble because I’m so far behind?…
