I’ve been diligent to keep the unit clean, air filters changed, outdoor unit clean.

It failed last night with cooling our house. Company that installed the unit (which has been INCREDIBLE for customer service) came out this morning to service it.

Two parts in the outdoor unit were vibrating enough to cause a line leak and all coolant leaked out and parts failed.

Then, the fine print was discovered in the warranty: Trane does not cover refrigerant in their warranty, even as a result of a warranty covered failure.

Three years old unit resulted in an 800 dollar repair bill.

I emailed Trane to see if they wanted to try to make good on it. No response yet.
