I graduated with a finance degree exactly one year ago, and honestly I've been scared of graduation since the day I started college. The reason is because I never had a career I wanted. I never cared about finance. I never wanted to be an accountant, financial advisor, analyst, or work some corporate job. I went to college because it was expected of me and because my parents wanted me to get a degree. Looking back, I spent most of those four years miserable. I hated being away from home, dreaded going back every year, and was constantly anxious because I knew eventually I would graduate and have to answer the question I had been avoiding my entire life: "What do I actually want to do?" The problem was that I never had an answer. While everyone around me seemed excited about internships, careers, and climbing a ladder, I wasn't.
