Scotland swimming- thermal or non thermal wetsuit? Morning all, I have a question regarding wetsuit thickness for swimming in Scotland. I often have issues with getting cold in the water. I've just started enjoying open water swims, and I currently use my 5/4mm surf suit which keeps me plenty warm (besides my face) I'm competing in a swim race in August up here in Scotland, but I want to be able to extend my training season to the colder months as well as summer. Can anyone give advice on whether the extra costs on a thermal suit would be beneficial on a swimming suit? I've never tried one and there's no shops nearby that stock, and I'd like to know if standard swim wetsuits are insulating enough to train/race in up here? The price isn't that much of an issue as I'll get the use out of it, I just worry the thermal suit will be far too hot for summer months, and I'd like to find one suit that can do me for most of the year? Looking at Orca TRN/thermal variant and Zone 3 Advance/Aspire thermals in particular!…
