The numbers have come up for the Primm Valley Lotto Store. And not in a winning way. The famous store along Interstate 15, which has been the go-to place for Las Vegas Valley residents to purchase their lottery tickets for at least 20 years, is closing July 4. A representative for The Primadonna Company confirmed Wednesday that the store will join other Primm properties to permanently close , including Primm Valley Resorts and Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino. Since lotteries in Nevada are prohibited by the state constitution , the store is swamped by ticket buyers when the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots near record levels. For example, thousands waited in line in December for a chance to win the $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot. The store, officially listed in Nipton, California, borders the Prizm Outlets shopping complex and even has its own road (aptly named “Lotto Store Road”).
