This week, Activision and Infinity Ward announced the next major installment in the Call of Duty franchise. This October, Modern Warfare 4 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 , and PC. And while looking at and sharing screenshots of the new game with other Kotaku staff, we realized that it’s really hard to tell some of these Call of Duty games apart. So let’s test you all and see how well you do at telling a Black Ops apart from a Modern Warfare.  To be clear: This isn’t an insult to the people who make these games. It’s just the reality that these games have been chasing photorealistic visuals and characters for many years now, and when you chase the real world like that, inevitably, you end up making a lot of games that sort of look the same.
