Father John Misty is back with a new song, “The Payoff,” his second single of 2026. Stream it below. “The Payoff” was written and composed by Josh Tillman himself, who co-produced it with Drew Erickson. With a psychedelic edge reminiscent of ELO and a heavy guitar riff, the track is certainly a ripper with his usual inscrutable lyrics.
