Known as the "Mountains of Florida" thanks to its ravines and hills, Torreya State Park in northern Florida is a popular place for hiking and bird-watching. The park is considered a must-visit for nature enthusiasts due to its rare flora, like the torreya tree and the Florida yew. For accommodations, visitors can choose between camping at the Weeping Ridge campground or staying in a yurt or cabin. Opened to the public in 1935, Torreya State Park was one of Florida's first state parks. The 13,000-acre expanse feels more like Georgia or North Carolina than Florida with its high plateaus, steep ravines, waterfalls, and seasonal foliage.
