A rare weather patterned called ' Godzilla ' El Niño is forming in the Pacific Ocean and is forecast to drive global temperatures to record highs later this year and into 2027, potentially bringing extreme weather events impacting people and wildlife, scientists have warned. The climate phase, which usually occurs two to three times a decade, and causes spikes in global temperatures as well as affecting rainfall patterns, has been broadly predicted by scientists, including at the Met Office and Nasa.
