2 min read Apr 25, 2026 03:00 PM IST The issuance of property cards for Lal Dora lands has begun in Punjab and people will now be able to become legal owners if they are occupying such properties, MLA Kulwant Singh has said. Addressing the crowd in Thaska and Dairi villages, the MLA distributed the property cards to 205 beneficiaries — 160 residents of Dairi village and 45 residents of Thaska village. The MLA said people living on Lal Dora land in over 12,000 villages across the state would now be able to legally claim ownership rights over the land they have occupied. “People will now be able to avail bank loans against their property; something that was not possible earlier due to the absence of valid ownership records.” The preparation of property cards for Lal Dora land has also started and the eligible beneficiaries will receive them as they are prepared, he said.…
