A half-million EDC attendees to jam I-15 this weekend

Traffic congestion is expected around Southern Nevada later this week as more than 500,000 revelers descend on the region to attend the Electric Daisy Carnival this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. To best handle the influx of drivers, the Nevada Department of Transportation will implement intermittent traffic restrictions and patterns around Interstate 15. NDOT recommends drivers plan their routes ahead and to allow for extra travel time due to the EDC crowds each day of the event, scheduled to take place Friday through Sunday. EDC-related traffic implications are as follows: Between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday Crews will be carrying out temporary shoulder restriping on I-15 northbound between the Tropical Parkway and Speedway Boulevard off-ramps. Temporary shoulder restriping is also planned for southbound Las Vegas Boulevard between Sloan Lane and Hollywood Boulevard.
