Rebels add transfer forward from Vanderbilt in roster overhaul

The UNLV men’s basketball team continued its roster rebuild by landing 6-foot-7 forward Tyler Harris. Harris, who averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds on 40 percent shooting from the field in 12 minutes per game for Vanderbilt last season, announced his commitment to UNLV on Wednesday. Vanderbilt was his third school in three seasons, and the Hayward Calif., native will end his collegiate career with the Rebels. Harris started his career with the Portland Pilots, averaging 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, earning a first-team all-West Coast Conference nod. As a sophomore at Washington, he averaged 11.8 points and five rebounds per game over 27 starts in the 2024-25 season. He shot a team-leading 49.5 percent from the 3-point line that year. With the addition of Harris, coach Josh Pastner enters his second year at the helm of the Rebels with six players locked in for the upcoming season.
