Des Linden Caps Off 220 Miles of Racing in April at the London Marathon, Running 3:04:24

Des Linden has been busy this April, to say the least. On Sunday morning at the London Marathon, Linden finished the race in 3:04:24, an average pace of 7:02 per mile. She ran a fairly even race, going out in 1:30:16 for the first half marathon, then covering the second half in 1:34:08. Linden was pacing a friend, and her run in London capped off a total of 220 miles of racing this month. Just six days earlier, at the Boston Marathon on April 20, Linden lined up in wave one to pace her husband, Ryan, to his goal of 2:33. In the final miles, Linden, 42, pulled away from Ryan, who finished in 2:37:49, and crossed the line in 2:35:49—good for 30th in the women’s division and second in the masters division. She even had time to grab a beer mid-race . Linden’s performance at Boston was impressive, especially considering she had raced the 168-mile Marathon des Sables just a week earlier. The event is six stages long and runs through the Sahara in Morocco.…
