Thermos has recalled over eight million malfunctioning jars and bottles after several people were injured. Last Thursday, the company, which manufactures insulated food and beverage containers, issued a press release stating that users “suffered permanent vision loss” due to multiple container models that lacked a pressure-relief function in their stoppers. “If perishable food or beverages are stored in the container for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened, which can result in serious impact injury and laceration hazards to the consumer,” the notice said on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
