I have been putting this off for years, it was a problem i couldn’t solve.

I have floating shelves I need to install. The spot has drywall attached to cinder block with furring strips. The custom shelf mounts have spots for an average sized screw for mounting. This mount is a thin strip of wood with rods sticking out. The rest of the shelf slides over the rods to hide the mount.

I can provide pictures when I get home later, this just came to mind with Mother’s Day approaching.

The two shelves would only need to hold maybe 25lbs. They are about 12 inches deep which can put a sort of lever pressure on any mount.

So I have drywall, 1.5-2inch gap, then cinder block. The furring strips are not properly located to use as mounts
