11:54 am Thu Apr 30, 2026 Photography by Therese Bonney, 1926 (Public Domain) This stylish cat sculpture by Jan Martel and Joël Martel, created in 1925, perfectly captures the sleek, geometric Art Deco look. A year later, photographer Thérèse Bonney snapped it alongside a real cat model, showing just how much the artists simplified the shape while still conveying the unmistakable feline attitude. It wasn't just a one-off piece, either. The design was produced by the Sèvres porcelain manufactory in materials such as porcelain and stoneware, with other versions made in terracotta and bronze.
