C33 Eastern Veil Nebula

(26 April 2026 with DWARF 3, unfortunately taken near the edge of the frame, which caused two lines at the bottom that I didn’t want to crop out)

This nebula, located about 2,000 light-years away, is part of the Veil Nebula, which formed a few thousand years ago from a supernova explosion.

The colors of the gas structures arise from the emission lines of the elements: blue indicates ionized oxygen, and red hydrogen.

  • some darks

Stacked with Siril (Naztronomy-Smart_Telescope_PP script), processed with Siril (stretched with VeraLux_HyperMetric_Stretch script) and GraXpert, post-processing with GIMP
