State girls’ golf list: Numerous Pikes Peak region competitors qualify for upcoming tournament

The final rounds of the Colorado girls’ golf season are on the horizon and numerous Pikes Peak region competitors qualified for next week’s tournaments. Colorado High School Activities Association on Monday morning posted the lists of Class 5A-2A schools and athletes who will compete at state, which begins May 18 and wraps May 19 in various locations. The top 84 golfers from each class came from iWanamaker’s rankings to fill the field and schools with three or more competitors have a shot at the team title. Landry Frost, Air Academy’s reigning individual 4A champion and No. 1-ranked golfer, will head to The Bridges Golf and Country Club in Montrose to defend her crown. In 2A, Manitou Springs’ Addison Dorsey, ranked second in her class, travels to Lone Tree Country Club in Littleton where she aims to dethrone Colorado Academy’s Sophia Lee, who earned the individual championship as a freshman. Pine Creek’s Henly Wilson is one of four freshman in 5A’s top 10 and will head to ThornCreek Golf Course in Thornton.…
