I am using the Tandem language app to speak with native Chinese speakers and since I’m a beginner I am trying to learn more about culture from a native person so I ask mostly cultural questions other than have a full fluent language exchange. Anyway, what I am noticing though is the big amount of fake profiles of Chinese people on this app. When I speak to other people I rarely encounter fake profiles but these have mostly very obvious fake pics(men that all look like models and a reverse search on rednote you can find the real profile) . Never full names or fake names, profiles that they’re active today and tomorrow they are deleted. I have never encountered such a huge number of scammers in other languages. Is this a normal thing to do in China? To be fake online I mean? In Europe generally few people do this. Most profiles are of real people with their faces and names. I have made many friends on this app that were just normal people who like languages.…
