Cannes Palme d’Or winner Ken Loach will be back at the festival for the first time in three years for a screening of Spanish Civil War drama Land and Freedom in the Cinéma de Plage strand which was unveiled today. It is among 11 films programmed for the festival’s nightly open-air screenings on the public Macé Beach opposite the Majestic Hotel. The lineup also features a 40th anniversary screening of Top Gun in the presence of Motion Picture Association (MPA) CEO Charles H. Rivkin, as well as Alan J. Pakula All The President’s Men , with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, which screened in Competition at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival. One new film, Molière, Cyrano and the Young King , a French period comedy-drama by Michel Leclerc and starring Artus, Doria Tillier, Julia Piaton and Franck Dubosc, will also world premiere in the strand.…
