Trying to understand how ownership of the house is determined Location: NYC My parents bought a house with their two siblings. The two put in 2/3 of the upfront cost but we paid a mortgage cause we didn’t have as much capital. Since our mortgage was 1/3 of cost we bought out the house fully. After that the next 15 years of renovations, property tax basically any expenses of the property were paid for by our family including the management of the tenants and the property not sure if that matters. After we paid the mortgage we wanted to live in the home so we paid rent for the other 2/3 for the next 6 years and the expenses we split 1/3 each i assumed. Recently my parents told me the expenses were never split and when we asked for our money back they refused to pay and then i was explained everything. Do we have a right to our money back and is it possible that we own a larger share of the place since there was no written agreement?…
