The Cincinnati Reds traded fan-favorite Jonathan India to the Kansas City Royals in November of 2024 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Brady Singer. On Tuesday, India underwent surgery on his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season. It's been a tough two seasons for India in Kansas City and he will be a free agent this coming offseason. After India slashed just .233/.323/.346 with 38 extra-base hits last year, the Royals agreed to pay him $8 million in hopes of a bounce back season. However, that didn't happen.
