In March 2026, the US Secretary of Energy directed Sable Offshore Corp. to restore Santa Ynez Unit operations under authorities delegated through the Defense Production Act and Executive Orders 13603 and 14391. This is a significant milestone for the Department of the Interior’s focus on Unleashing American Energy through the Energy Dominance agenda.
