I'm hoping to get some insight from people who work in recruiting or the hiring process, particularly at nonprofits (I'm in Brooklyn, NY, if that helps): does your organization hang onto resumes you've received as part of a general applicant pool, or would it make sense for a candidate to apply again in a few months for another position? I applied for a higher-level position six months ago and now see an opening that's a better match for my experience. I'm trying to decide whether it would be a complete waste of time to apply to this new position, given the level of effort the organization is asking for in their applications.
