There were plenty of occasion for celebrities, influencers and other style tastemakers to dress up in denim this season. Gap Inc. creative director Zac Posen stayed true to the company’s roots for the Met Gala . The designer wore dark wash jeans, a burnished Trucker jacket and classic white tee, allowing the GapStudio creation he made for Kendall Jenner to steal the spotlight. The Chanel jeans model Bhavitha Mandava wore to the event sparked outrage online. However, on closer inspection the deceptively casual bottoms were not denim at all.  The trompe l’oeil jeans were in fact made from silk muslin and printed with a faux denim effect.
