Beavers ace Dax Whitney exits 12-4 win early with ‘tightness’ in throwing arm No. 6 Oregon State baseball opened its series in the win column, beating Hawai’i 12-4, though the attention of Friday’s game fell on the Beavers’ ace. Sophomore right-hander Dax Whitney exited his regularly-scheduled Friday start in the middle of a top-of-the-sixth at-bat. No update on Whitney’s status, per Beavers coach Whitney, the No. 1 prospect in the 2027 MLB Draft, threw his 89th pitch of the start before walking off the mound.
