Halloween only comes once a year, but don’t we really need ghost stories year-round? In the Shadows Paranormal will host National Paranormal Day, spread out over a weekend, where you can stay overnight in the historic and allegedly haunted Hotel St. Nicholas in Cripple Creek, and also visit two other spooky and historic Cripple Creek structures: the Outlaws & Lawmen Jail Museum and the Old Homestead House.

The event on Saturday and Sunday includes small-group, after-hours investigations, breakfast and tours. The weekend is $235; intheshadowsparanormal.com. – Jennifer Mulson, The Gazette
