Suspect in police shooting on high school campus arrested, identified

A man who was involved in a police shooting on the grounds of Legacy High School on Thursday has been identified as Jallel Jenkins-Harris, 21. Clark County Detention Center jail booking records show Jenkins-Harris is facing multiple felonies, including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of stolen property, attempted home invasion, robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. He is being held without bail. North Las Vegas police said Jenkins-Harris suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday afternoon at Legacy. The incident started just after 10:30 a.m., North Las Vegas police said, when a man was concealing items inside a store near the Deer Springs Town Center shopping mall in the 7000 block of North Fifth Street. When police arrived, the man fled on foot. A chase ensued, which eventually led to the Legacy High School campus west of West Deer Springs Way and North Fifth Street.…
