Healey to stop pushing social-media legislation councilors say would only harm LGBTQ teens and immigrants and open all residents up to data breaches and government abuse of their information while failing to do anything about the rapacious social-media companies that are doing actual harm. The measure, sponsored by Councilor Henry Santana, also calls on the state's members of Congress and senators to do likewise. Santana and Councilor Julia Mejia (at large) said social media has become vital to LGBTQ youth looking for health and other advice - and a way for immigrants and allies to organize to keep them safe.…
