I want to learn Korean because I hope to move to Korea in the future for my studies. I still have almost four years before I apply, since I’m planning to go there for my postgraduate degree. I believe learning Korean would not only help me adjust better to life in Korea, but also strengthen my application and improve my chances of getting accepted. At the same time, I want to learn Korean for myself because I’ve been interested in the language and culture for nearly six years now. I did try learning it before and studied a little Hangul, but I’ve forgotten parts of it over time, so I want to start again from the beginning with a proper foundation. I know a few basic phrases, but I’m not confident using them yet.
