After months of seemingly unfounded rumors swirling about an upcoming Witcher 3 expansion intended to set up Witcher 4 — rumors I admittedly assumed were just wishful thinking — CD Projekt Red goes and drops an announcement like this on a random Wednesday. The Witcher 3 , considered by many to be the best Polish export since pierogi, is a timeless monster-hunting RPG that's apparently about to get even more timeless. The game's third expansion, Songs of the Past , has just been revealed. Notably, the game's last expansion was released in 2016, a full decade ago at the time of announcement and even longer when this new one drops in 2027. Hopefully we'll still be able to focus on other games a year into GTA 6 's eternal dynasty.…
