The dark, brutally honest shots at Tupac… it almost sounds like a man celebrating what he thinks is victory while unknowingly signing his own death warrant.

Then you’ve got Puffy yelling all over the track, adding to that heavy, menacing energy. The whole thing just feels dark.

I’ve always had Biggie as the better overall artist, but Pac makes you *feel* something different. Like you could run through a wall listening to him.

“Long Kiss Goodnight” is the only time I get that same raw emotion from Biggie. You can hear everything in it — the anger, the bitterness, the frustration, but also that sense of satisfaction and smugness. It’s got this energy of: *“fuck you nigga, even in death. I won in the end.”*
