Author Peter Richardson to discuss new Rolling Stone history at OSU-Cascades - The Bulletin

Published 10:30 am Monday, April 27, 2026 Author and journalist Peter Richardson will speak at Oregon State University – Cascades on May 13 about his latest book, “Brand New Beat: The Wild Rise of Rolling Stone Magazine.” The event is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Charles McGrath Family Atrium in Edward J. Ray Hall on the OSU-Cascades campus. It is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Richardson’s book examines the founding of Rolling Stone magazine in 1967 in San Francisco during the counterculture movement and its influence on music, politics and popular culture over the following decade. Following the talk, Natalie Dollar, an associate professor of speech communication at OSU-Cascades, will join Richardson for a discussion.
