This week, Alex Jones shut off the lights on his right-wing conspiracy website InfoWars amid a prolonged legal battle between The Onion and the family of Sandy Hook victims over control of the media brand. Though a Texas job halted The Onion’s latest attempt to formally take over InfoWars’ website and assets, Jones was nonetheless forced to cease production of his show after a court-appointed receiver stopped paying bills at his studio. But while the legal fight drags out in the background, The Onion has move ahead with launching its own satirical version of InfoWars hosted by comedian Tim Heidecker (who also serves as its new creative director ).
