Location: Indiana So this morning my husband and I woke up to meows of a cat outside our apartment. We took him to the vet to see if he had a microchip and he did, which led to someone in Illinois. The vet told us they were going to contact this person and let us know what that person had to say. Turns out this person is not the current owner of the cat, and they said they don’t have the current owner’s contact info. They gave the vet their contact info, who gave it to us. We called this person to see if we could find out more, and they said they were willing to take the cat back if we didn’t want him and the current owner does not come forward. Now my husband and I are big cat people, and we want to keep this cat if the current owner does not come forward. We told the past owner that the vet told us we are legally obligated to keep him for 14 days and then, legally he’s ours. We told the past owner that if this cat cannot integrate with ours, we would consider giving him back.…
