As the title suggests. I'm curious what are some techniques/strategies that fencers find very useful, or almost gives you a dominating edge when fencing at an beginner/intermediate level.

For my case, Im a french grip user.

One technique I sort of develop is twisting my body to increase the chance of my opponents missing when I get very close.

In terms of strategy, I just go super aggressive and rush to close quarters whenever there is an opportunity, just betting on that people will more likely miss when hitting a very close target.

I would have hoped to see world class fencer that has a similar playstyle, but dont seem to find one. Most epee fencer I see still looks to me extremely cautious and passive. That makes me think that some tricks I like to use when I fence is probably only useful at intermediate level. Do someone has experience on this?
