Tochigi Prefectural Police on Thursday arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery-murder in connection with a deadly home invasion that led to the death of a woman in the town of Kaminokawa, Tochigi Prefecture.

The suspect, who identified himself as a high school student from the city of Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, was taken into custody after police found him near the scene that day.

He is suspected of breaking into the home of 69-year-old company executive Eiko Tomiyama on Thursday morning and killing her while searching for valuables. Tomiyama had multiple stab wounds to her chest and police plan to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
