I’ve been upland hunting and deer hunting a couple of times, which I really enjoyed, but I want to get a lot more into hunting. I heard that starting with small game is good. I didn’t grow up going to the woods and shooting squirrels/rabbits so I’m not sure how it works. I figure it’s pretty dangerous and inconsiderate to walk around the woods with a .22/20 gauge and shoot varmints while everyone is trying to get deer. Frankly I’m a little embarrassed to be a man in his 20s going small game hunting, but I do think it sounds fun.

I’m mostly in North Georgia.

How do I go about doing this correctly? Where should I be going? Where can I find other people who enjoy small game hunting? Any good books?
