Hey everyone, I'm looking into the Wharton Business and Financial Modeling Specialization (https://www.coursera.org/specializations/wharton-business-financial-modeling). While I want to learn the actual Excel and modeling skills, my main question is about academic recognition. Do universities, colleges, or business schools give this certificate any real importance? Specifically, I’m trying to figure out if putting this on an application for a Master’s in Finance, an MBA, or a competitive economics and business undergrad program makes a difference. Do admissions committees actually value it as a sign of initiative and quantitative skill, or do they just see it as a generic online certificate that anyone can click through? I'd love to hear from any students who have used this to boost their academic applications, or anyone familiar with how admissions offices view these specific Wharton Coursera credentials. Thanks! submitted by /u/DopamineAccountant [link] [comments]
