Killer whales – also known as orcas – are apex ocean predators. The species is at the top of the oceanic food chain, thanks to their high intelligence, large bodies (up to 26 feet in length and over 12,000 pounds), knack for hunting in packs (akin to wolves), sharp teeth, carnivorous appetite, and other such lethal factors.
