Image via Ubisoft It's been the worst-kept secret in the gaming industry for what feels like a lifetime now, but Ubisoft's remake of their 2013 classic Assassin's Creed: Black Flag has finally been revealed in full, colors flying and sails raised. As the best pirate game ever made and certainly the most fun Assassin's Creed — paradoxically because it eschews so much of the Assassin's Creed formula — Black Flag needs no introduction. I've opined before on this remake of Ubisoft's best-regarded game and the way it comes across as a fairly transparent "smash glass in case of emergency" ploy to steer the company out of troubled waters. Maybe it's that faint undercurrent of desperation, maybe it's someone at Ubisoft finally wanting to get back to making good games, but Black Flag Resynced seems to be pulling out all the stops.
