Digital Nomad Community Safety Trigger warning: mention of SA Hey! So I wanted to make a post regarding a concerning interaction I’ve had with a digital nomad community (wifi-tribe). This is based on my experience only. Long story short, one of their members graped me. Knowing this isn’t a safe individual, I told wifi-tribe about it. This was about a month after I reported it to the police and it was still very fresh. They basically told me because I wasn’t a member/ didn’t happen on a chapter, they couldn’t do anything about it. But they only told me this after they made me tell them about the assault. It was honestly very traumatic. They also wanted the police report, which doesn’t make sense because the majority of it would be redacted due to the ongoing case. Since I reported it in my / his home country and not the country it happened in - it’s taking a decent time to process and he is able to travel with them. I think it’s shady af of this company to not prioritize the safety of their members.…
