Melanie Lynskey and Jason Ritter’s LA Home Is What Happens When You Don’t Hold Back

Melanie Lynskey always knew she loved her home. A few years in, however, the house was still playing hard to get. “The house itself has a lovely feeling, and it’s so warm,” says Lynskey of the 3,200-square-foot Los Angeles residence that she shares with her husband, actor Jason Ritter, and their young daughter. “But there was this cold tile on everything. It’s such a happy place, and I wanted to make it as cozy as its soul is.” In the center of the living room, Henrietta Harris’s Everything, Everything hangs above a tiled fireplace with a marble hearth, while Emily Wolfe’s Hinterland 1 is mounted over a vintage cabinet at right. After getting to know the home, Lynskey and Ritter were ready to make it their own. “I lived in my last house for 13 years,” says the actor, a New Zealand native celebrated for her Emmy-nominated work in Yellowjackets.…
