Published 10:00 am Friday, May 29, 2026 The OSU-Cascades Little Kits child care program had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It had been in operation for less than a year. The school made the decision to shut it down . It is scheduled to close on July 2. The OSU plan was never to make money off of Little Kits. It was always going to be subsidized. But the subsidies became too much. Campus officials, including interim Chancellor Christine Pollard and Associate Dean Shannon Lipscomb, graciously sat down with us to offer those details and more as an explanation. The condition was that they did not want to be quoted directly without additional permission. They were not the people who created or had direct operation over Little Kits. We did the rough math from the general numbers they provided.
