Hokkaido police arrested a 46-year-old woman Tuesday on suspicion of murdering her 6-year-old son at their home in the city of Sapporo. The suspect, Yukie Kamii, a self-described part-time worker who lives in the city’s Teine Ward, is accused of strangling her son, Yusho, a first-grade elementary school student, sometime between Monday morning and evening, according to reports by Hokkaido Television Broadcasting. According to police, Kamii called emergency services at around 7:40 p.m. that day, telling operators: “My child is dead.
