His remarks come amid speculations of a fresh round of internal reshuffling in the ruling NCP, nearly two years after party’s former chief, late Ajit Pawar, split the party and joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government.
Two weeks ago, NCP(SP) executive president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule said she would be happy to see her sister-in-law Sunetra Pawar as CM of the state.
Sunetra Pawar leads comfortably in Baramati, securing thousands of votes, while her closest rival has around 100, Independents under 100 each, and NOTA just over 100.
Amid internal jockeying and questions of loyalty, Sunetra Pawar faces a challenge to take her first major call as Nationalist Congress Party chief in selecting the party’s lone candidate for the Maharashtra Legislative Council polls.
