how to do siddhasana for more than 15 minutes without getting pins & needles?

I try and direct my deep breaths in this asana upward into my mid-upper back until I feel the release of knots but within minutes, I’m collapsing into my hips again! And then my legs become numb and I have to endure pins and needles.
