Indian Railways has accelerated work on the Puri-Konark rail line project to improve connectivity and infrastructure along coastal Odisha.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Odisha’s rail network will support nearly 500 additional trains following major infrastructure expansion and capacity upgrades.

Despite 60 days into energy supply disruption due to the West Asian crisis, India stands strong, he said and added that the country absorbed the global shock at the fiscal level instead of passing it on to consumers, supported by long-term planning.
