The Delhi Police, earlier in the day, had arrested Wastik in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old boy in a case dating back nearly two decades. Wastik had come into the spotlight in February after he was attacked by brothers Gulfam and Zeeshan.
Salim kidnapped and killed a child in 1995, and was convicted in 1997. He resurfaced on the Internet, and was attacked, allegedly for his views on Islam, by two brothers on Feb 27. Within days, police killed both brothers in encounters.
